Band Bio: BEL AIR: PROFILE OF A BAND.
Power trio BEL AIR was founded in 1990 and its show, at first named ROCK 'N' ROLL MUSIC, rapidly became one of the most successful of the last decade, with almost 1000 live appearances in 9 years, and 2 records released by the local Top Hat Records label.
In 2003, the trio recorded a new song also released in England, "Lay It On Me", a tribute to the late Maurice Gibb from the Bee Gees, whom Alfie Gayle had met in Miami, U.S.A. On that same year, the group closed the 2003 BEATLE WEEK in Buenos Aires, Argentina, one of the most important Beatles events in the world.
In 2004, BEL AIR launched its own website, www.belair.com.uy , and presented sold-out concerts of its shows A NIGHT WITH ELVIS PRESLEY, BEATLES' ROCK, and THE HISTORY OF ROCK AND ROLL. The power trio closed again the (FOURTH) BEATLE WEEK in Buenos Aires, and ended up the year with a free open air concert after its return from the Beatle Week.
During 2005, the group introduced his new BEATLES & CO show, which combines songs from the Fab Four with hits from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. In August, the group celebrated its first 15 years with various concerts and, at the end of November, BEL AIR was invited to play two shows at the FIFTH BEATLE WEEK at THE CAVERN CLUB, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
BEL AIR recreates in its own personal way the greatest hits of rock and roll from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s, from Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys and the Uruguayan Shakers, to Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Bee Gees, The Guess Who, Steppenwolf, Toto, AC/DC and Van Halen, among many others.
