Band Bio: From his early days travelling with horses with the Caravan Stage Company, Cam has been a multi-instrumentalist with a keen interest in the music of many genres. He is an active sideman in many projects and well composing and teaching. Cam has been part of the music community in Edmonton since 1985 when he moved here to study violin in the music program at Grant MacEwan college. Since then he has played with many bands from the free improv ensemble, The Fractals, traditional Irish music with Coel Na Gale, country music with Twang! and John Henry and just about everything in between. He currently plays with songwriter Kevin Cook,(with whom he recently recorded a CD at Joby Baker's studio in Victoria) Back Porch Swing, Kat Danser, The Jim Findley Trio, Swing Manouche , Billie Zizi and the Gypsy Jive, and his own trio which showcases Cam's original compositions . Cam has two cds of his own as well as many recording credits. He maintains a busy teaching schedule and has recently released a instructional video for fiddle improvisation with Doug Cox's Learn Roots Music .   Read Less »
