Band Bio: CUCHUFLETA is a band from Santiago, Chile. It is a quintet that counts with PIANO, VOICES; DRUMS; BASS; GUITAR; VIOLIN; TRUMPET. The band was formed in the year 2004 by Gregorio (Grr). This musical project tries to converge EXPERIMENTAL MUSIC AND POETRY on one side, together with song format and its influences from ROCK and LOCAL FOLK on the other one. The result is a band with a particular sound that mixes ROCK ANDINO, PSYCHEDELIC MUSIC, IMPROVISATION AND SOUND POETRY among others. Along with Gregorio the band is joined by his cousin Hernán, his sister Amparo and their friends from childhood Joaquín and Alberto. All of them had shared musical experiencies from long before they were known as Cuchufleta. As CUCHUFLETA they have toured around Chile and Argentina. Some highlights are their performances at the dome in Parque O'Higgins, El Huevo in Valparaíso and at Santiago's ExOZ with Los Jaivas, Chile's most emblematic band from the seventies. As a soloist some of Grr's highlights are a piano concert at Teatro Municipal de Santiago, a piano and voice performance at The Bowery Poetry Club in New York and a Electronic work for Tsonami Festival in Valparaíso.   Read Less »
