Band Bio: Dark Summer Dawn is not normal by Austin standards. They are heavy but not metal, hooky but not pop, and indie but not emo or punk. They are a five-piece modern rock band that has major label potential, radio-friendly songs, ass-kicking stage presence, and tour throughout Texas. The band has showcased in the Florida Music Festival, Amplify Music Festival (Vegas) as well as Texas Rockfest, Red Gorilla, and Music Gorilla during SXSW. They’ve rocked the Republic of Texas Bike Rally, BatFest, Good Day Austin (FOX 7), and Local Licks Live (KLBJ).
Their current self-titled release was produced by Mark Dufour (Ghostland Observatory, Blue October) and has received spins on KLBJ, KISS, KRBQ, KLFX, KISS, KXTE, and Cabo Wabo Radio (#1 Active Rock on Live365.com). In their hometown, they typically headline the Red Eyed Fly or The Parish, and play some of the premier venues in Texas. DSD’s music is honest, biting, catchy, and performed for live audiences in a memorable way. Give them a listen or come to show, and you'll see why Dark Summer Dawn is the coolest rock band from Austin, that doesn't necessarily sound like Austin.
