Band Bio: Gene Reid played his first gig at age seventeen on a Silvertone guitar through a Montgomery Ward amp. He has played with Rock bands, Blues bands, Country bands and Gospel bands. Gene plays slide guitar and lead, both acoustic and electric, and writes his own compositions, usually dark narrative stories about real people he has known as well as pointed political humor and narratives of his own brushes with death and love. He writes music and lyrics for just about every genre of songs as well as instrumental numbers. Under the psuedonym karmakool, Gene Reid’s most recent instrumental composition, “Celtic Rage”, went to number one in Reverbnation’s Dance/Electronica genre in the Little Rock area. You can find his music online at http://www.reverbnation.com/genereid and also at

Gene’s latest project has been playing backup lead guitar with friend, singer/songwriter Justin Patterson.
Gene says, “Playing with Justin is a real blast, because our styles are so complimentary. Even if it’s a new song I haven’t heard, I can usually feel where he’s going before he gets there.”
Gene’s music tends to be deep and may leave you with vivid imagery as well as challenge what you believe about life and love and what lies beyond.
He is currently working and playing with a group of musical artists in Little Rock to forge what will eventually be a new statement about what life really is and what it really is not.
