Band Bio: Since moving to New York City in 2005, Australian singer/songwriter Karlie Bruce has performed with the world’s finest, everywhere from the famed Bitter End to Carnegie Hall. Karlie opened for pianist Brad Mehldau in New York, was awarded 3rd place in the 2005 Shure Montreux Jazz Voice Competition, is a songwriter for BBC International Television, toured Italy, Germany, Belgium and the Czech Republic and her debut album ranked no.2 in Japan, behind only Norah Jones. Karlie can be heard playing in and around New York City with “Things I Wonder”, Wheatus, Matt Wilson’s Arts & Crafts, Sam Sadigursky’s “The Words Project”, Brooklyn’s disco posse, Escort and her own original projects, in anticipation of her second CD, due for release in 2010.
