Band Bio: Singer-Songwriter Guitarist and Drummer Lisa Taylor began her performance career at the age of 14 as the fearless double pedal rock and roll drummer for the band "Sister". After touring the Mid-Atlantic, she ventured to France with the New Hots Jazz Orchestra then returned to the D.C. area to develop her solo career. Adept at voice and guitar, her original music is clearly influenced by her percussion sensibilities and her experiences growing up in a chaotic musical family in the 1970's. She has won 2 WAMMIES (Washingtonton Area Music Awards) including Best Contemporary Folk Album for her 2008 release "True North" and is nominated again this year for Best Vocalist in Contemporary Folk. She has been a finalist at both The Kerrville New Folk Festival and Mountain Stage New Song. She has garnered an impressive array of awards for her own songwriting as well as in studio contributions for dozens of independent artists whose work appears in film and television. Currently, Lisa is writing for her next album and is a member and rhythmic engine for Andrew McKnight and Beyond Borders which features original Nitty Gritty Dirt Band member Les Thompson.
