Band Bio: Colorado Bluegrass... The award-winning Lonesome Traveler Bluegrass Band features tight two and three part harmonies and original songwriting from mandolinist Jodi Boyce, guitarist Dustin Scott, and dobroist Ansel Foxley, great fingerstyle guitar from Rick Scott, smooth fiddle from Chad Fisher, and solid dawg-house bass from Evan Neal. LTBB roots their sound in the great traditions of bluegrass, but reflects influences from blues, folk, rock and roll, traditional country and Celtic music. Influenced by such diverse artists as Gillian Welch, Tim O'Brien, Natalie Merchant, Del McCoury, Led Zeppelin, Bill Monroe, Hot Rize, Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Denver, Dolly Parton and the Nashville Bluegrass Band, Lonesome Traveler continues to explore bluegrass and acoustic music while honoring the traditions of the past.
Lonesome Traveler came together for Chad's wedding in 2005 and quickly became known in the bluegrass hotbed of the Front Range of Colorado as an up and coming band.
The band entered the Telluride and RockyGrass Bluegrass Band contests in 2007 - placing 2nd in both contests, a feat never before accomplished by one band in the same calendar year. LTBB also placed 2nd in the 2006 Wickenburg Bluegrass Festival Band contest. Individual awards for the band include 1st place Specialty Duet for Jodi and Dustin at the 2006 Wickenburg Bluegrass Festival, and 1st place Dobro for Ansel at 2007 RockyGrass Festival.
Lonesome Traveler is touring and playing festivals in 2008/2009 in support of their second album, "Listen to that Sound". Featuring mostly original songs, "Listen To That Sound" was recorded and produced by Aaron Youngberg (Finders & Youngberg, formerly Hit and Run Bluegrass) of Swingfingers Recording Studios, Ft. Collins, Colorado, and showcases the originality of their lineup and songs. LTBB's first album, the self-titled “Lonesome Traveler Bluegrass Band,” released in 2006, was also produced and recorded by Aaron Youngberg .
LTBB is available for: festivals, private parties, concerts, school and community educational presentations, all types of events. Please see the press kit or website for Lonesome Traveler's current schedule and band information.
