Band Bio: Maria grew up in rural Kentucky and began playing the flute at age 9. She holds a B.M. in Music Performance from the University of Kentucky and a M.A. in Music Performance from New York University. Her private teachers have included Gary Shocker, Gordon Cole, and Lisa McArthur. In addition, she attended classes at NYU with flutists Robert Dick and Keith Underwood.
