Band Bio: Matt Burnett woke up in Arlington, Virginia one afternoon in June 2007, and was very disoriented. He had no idea what he was doing there, but had been dreaming something about creating, recording and performing music in cities as disparate as San Francisco and Richmond, Virginia.
Convinced that this peculiar situation was the result of a transcontinental teleportation mishap, he packed up everything that made sound and moved to Austin, Texas. Now, when the next teleportation mishap occurs, there won't be as much distance to cover, and hopefully the after-effects won't be as disorienting.
He plays mandolin with the Austin Mandolin Orchestra and an ensemble called Nefesh. He is a sound guy at some venues in Austin. Also, he is the sort-of supervising sound editor/sound designer for an ongoing micro-budget film project. He writes songs and sings them sometimes, as he is in the process of producing a CD that a bunch of friendly and talented people in Austin have agreed to play on.
Occasionally he sits still and does nothing for a few minutes, and is quite friendly once you get to know him.
