Band Bio: TMK are five young guys who love to play rock 'n' roll, a band with heart, grit, and soul. Their sound, described as "if Motown made love to the Rolling Stones", is an electric mix of soul, blues, country and everything in between. Put this together with stack harmonies, classic guitar work, and a pounding rhythm section, and you got just the right dose of rock 'n' roll.
TMK were founded in Hamilton in 2006 by Nick Cino (vocals), Mike Ventimiglia (guitar), Dave Marini (bass) and Dano Stajduhar (drums), and later joined by Ivan Katkic (keyboards) in 2007.
Their debut album, 2008's "Long Time Comin" was acclaimed by both fans and critics for its catchy, soul-infused singalongs. The album reflected the band's love of Motown greats like Marvin Gaye, and classic groups like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Band. Featuring 11 original songs, it spawned the hits "Sailing On The Ocean" and "Some Revolution".
In early 2009, the band released a video for their version of Marvin Gaye's classic "What's Going On", which became a bonafide hit on YouTube, and was released in collaboration with War Child Canada. After the release of the video, the Kings embarked on successful tours of Europe and Western Canada, including stops in Milan, Florence, London, Amsterdam, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary.
Currently the band is in the studio working on a follow-up EP to be released in 2010.
