Band Bio: Muscle Hawk is the gritty, funky, electro-thrash project of Salt Lake producer/musicians Greg Bower and Josh Holyoak. In the past year they have gained much recognition, playing their live electronic set in some of SLC's hottest dance spots, as well as playing The 2009 X96 Maverick Big Ass Show and The SLC Gallivan Center. They crunch the dance floor with their engorged electronic riffs, 80s funk, nasty metallic drums and vocal samples torqued to all hell. They've received a lot of help and attention from local media (SLUG, City Weekly, KUTV2, KRCL, X96 and UTAHFM.ORG) as well as garnering attention outside the state, including being named The Boston Phoenix 2009 best new artist in Utah. Their fuzz-infused-pop-dance tracks project a spacious, electro feel. They flirt gritty, distorted elements of funk into pop-structures and aggressive synth soundscapes. Muscle Hawk's first EP "The Speed of Dark" is available on iTunes. The new Muscle Hawk single entitled "Set Yourself On Fire" is scheduled to release this February, followed by their second, as of yet unnamed, EP.
