Band Bio: Raya Brass Band plays the swirling, carnivalesque, dynamic wedding dance and celebration music of northern Greece and the southern Balkans. In true Eastern European village brass band style, this quintent plays acoustically in the middle of the dance floor. Composed of a thumping tuba, a lyrical accordion, a crying and laughing clarinet, a fervent trumpet and an snappy bass drum, their sound is liltling, tilting, weighty and deliberate, funky and extremely danceable.
