Band Bio: Beats, Rhymes, Dubs and Basslines. The Retainers are based in Auckland New Zealand Pacific ocean planet earth. They serve up a unique Aotearoa fusion style of Dub - Roots - Hip hop - electronic music. The Retainers started out around 2005 with Chris Mclay & Jeremy hunt, performing dub beats as a live unit playing clubs and festivals around New Zealand. Bringing a phat mpc style beat flavour to the kiwi dud sound The Retainers hold it down solid in the live shows bringing a new sound to the ears of Dub & roots music fans.
