Band Bio: The Cumberland Trio originated in the folk era of the early 1960's at the University of Tennessee. Founded in May, 1963, in less than a year the Trio had won the Nat'l Collegiate Folk Festival, appeared on ABC-TV's Hootenany 3 times & recorded an album at RCA Nashville produced by Chet Atkins and played many colleges & famed folk club's including The Bitter End in NY City where their opening act was athen unknown comedian named Bill Cosby! Just after the LP release the Beatles hit in 1964 and crushed folk. The Trio disbanded and reunited with a vengeance in 2001 and 2004 for two Reunion Concerts recorded for DVD & CD.Their music is now being heard all around the world on over 700 FM stations!
