Band Bio: This Frontier Needs Heroes is an American Folk duo of brother-sister Brad and Jessica Lauretti living in Brooklyn, NY.
They were brought up with a spirit of rebellion, a passion for social justice, and spent much of their childhood dancing and singing together to their favorite songs! In 2007, after splitting with his last band, Brad turned to a new stripped down approach and began to collaborate with his sister Jessica, an experimental filmmaker who taught herself tambourine, ukulele, and drums. The Heroes sing honest, personal stories of love, loss, and longing for a better world. They are inspired by the human experience of generations of people trying to make it to the Mountain Top. Brad’s poetic heart and fighting spirit, in harmony with Jessica’s wild and wailing nature, gives the Heroes their unforgettable stormy sound.
After the worldwide release of their debut record, the Heroes spent 2009 touring extensively across America with 150+ dates from Canada to Kansas to California. They were invited to play the End Of The Road Festival in England, and had a successful UK tour including supporting dates for She Keeps Bees, Tallest Man on Earth, Kath Bloom, and The Handsome Family. They have received much acclaim from publications such as NPR All Songs Considered, Time Out New York, Time Out London, Decider.com, and have done live sessions for Daytrotter, SPIN Earth, Balcony TV, and TONY.
