A personal statement on the cause: Mental Health
Since Katrina, New Orleans residents have had super high rates of depression. Not too shocking, right? I think the government should be making sure people who need mental help are getting it.
Why this cause matters...
Suicide is the third leading cause of death among 15 to 24-year-olds in the U.S. Depression, anxiety and stress are problems that affect a lot of people, and they should be taken seriously. Good mental health is essential for being happy and healthy overall.
