Creation vs. Evolution

Take action

proof much?
you say god is real. prove it. there are millions of scientific studies that support the theory of evolution. they have actually facts like DNA and carbon-dating tests now. do u think god has that much PROOF? and i dont mean 3 billion ppl believe in him. actual documented, non-biased, evidential proof that he created teh Earth? no. you dont. so just stop.
Creatism and Evolutionism
There is a major separation between these two topics, as we all know. In my opinion, both sides need to be educated correctly about each opinion. It doesn't hurt to know the ideas. It's because the skeptic doesn't understand the religious person that there is such a disagreement over this topic. A religious being can stick to theior beliefs, just at least try to open their eyes to other ideas, it wont kill you.

Why I support this cause

this is debatable. i did a project on this topic in 8th grade. i believe in both creation and evolution. who says they cant both be true? the bible says god created the earth in 7 days. we christians believe that our god is HUGE. if our god is so big, do you think a day to him is the same as a day to us? a day to god could be a billion years! in that time he could have formed earth and the life on it through evolution. dont you see how the 2 theories intertwine? its stupid to fight about. but it is DEFINATLY not ok to teach creationism in schools. it would be so offensive to other religions. the evolution side is universally taught because it is supported by facts, so its not (or shouldn't be) offensive to anyone.

It Could Offend Some People: not teaching it offends people 55% of humans believe that God created humans in their present form only 13% believe humans evolved with no guidence from God 65% of people think Creationism and evolution should be taught in schools that means only 35% of people think Creationism has no place in public schools according to these numbers, the majority of people WANT Creationism taught in schools. So, who exactly are we offending by teaching Creationism in schools? If people don't want to learn about Creationism and be well informed then why should the rest of us suffer that lack of knowledge for that 35%? Maybe that 35% that doesn't want anything to do with it should open there own PRIVATE schools...then they don't have to teach it. Or, everyone can just learn to deal deal with the somewhat equalness and listen to both sides. Then maybe we wouldn't even need private schools. Public means to be open to all persons or views and school is a place to educate and inform. So, why is it that only one side (or view) is allowed in PUBLIC SCHOOLS, where children should be equally informed of all views? Another common argument is that Creationism is a Religion; well, there are six branches of Evolution, and you can only prove five of them. Therefore, isn't that more of a religion than a science? You can't prove or disprove it...only believe that it happened, much like Creationists do. Don't believe me? Can you prove any of these theories beyond a reasonable doubt: Cosmic Evolution: Origin of time, space & matter; the big bang Chemical Evolution: Origin of higher elements from hydrogen; elements creating elements Stellar & Planetary Evolution: Origin of stars & planets; we've only ever seen stars explode, not form Organic Evolution: Origin of life; we all came from a speck that was rained on & Macro-Evolution: Changing of one kind of animal into another; ex) a dog producing a non-dog the only truly scientific branch is Micro-Evolution which is variation within kinds because science is the systematic knowledge derived from observation, demonstration, and testing. In other words, if you can't PROVE it then it isn't SCIENTIFIC. I don't know about you, but to me it is a lot harder getting my head around the idea that we, the most complex creatures to ever live, came from one speck of nothing that exploded and got rained on for millions of years than the idea that there was a creator, God.

Don't get me wrong. I have very strong deep seeded moral and spiritual beliefs myself. But, if I were a teacher or a politician, my own morals, values, and personal beliefs would have no room in my professional life. People tend to forget about "separation of church and state", especially in a society where even the government is border-line encroaching that line. But we need to remember, as people, that there is supposed to be a separation. It's one thing if you're enrolled in a private, religious school and a totally other if you're in a public class room. We need to remember that, although it's wonderful to believe what you do, and to stay strong and stand by your values, that there is a line and it should not be crossed. We need to be able to separate our personal and professional selves; unfortunately, many people are unable to do that, including many politicians.

Why can't creationism be taught in schools...I don't get that part. If evolution can be taught and pushed on students then why can't creationism at least be taught? It doesn't need to be pushed on anyone, neither creationism nor evolution should, but why can't we be taught about it. Have them taught together and compared side by side. They say it will offend people if they start doing that but I don't see how. It shouldn't offend non-believers anymore than not teaching creationism offends believers. If schools truly care about the future of our world and our education then why don't they give us all the information we can so we can make a properly informed decision. All I'm saying is that if they teach one side of the story then they should teach all sides. Like I just learned in speech class-pesuasive speech vs. informative speech. School should be a place to get informed about everyday topics, not a place where you are persuaded to believe one thing because that is the only side you here.

God made us. I don't honestly know how, but he did. Jesus died for us and no debate can change that. Some things could have evolved. But GOD would have evolved them. The universe can't work without him and neither can we.

that evolution happened and god made us? like, say god made the little micro-creatures that we were and he made us evolve into what we are. Learn to compromise people.

Look...does it really make a difference? All that matters is that Jesus was born and died for us. Stop argueing about small technicalities and take some time to remember the big picture.

I have a question, in the bible on the first page of Genesis it approx. says that god created the earth before the sun. Without the sun there is no life, no plants, no animals to feed on the plants, no predators to feed on the prey there is nothing. And for the blog ahead of me evidence of abistitence is not abisitence of evidence.

An atheist once said in a debate that he could never believe in anything that he could not see, taste, hear, smell, or touch. His opponent asked him how he knew he had a brain, if he had never seen, tasted, heard, smelled, or touched it. The atheist replied that even though he had never seen, tasted, heard, smelled, or touched his brain, the fact that brain experts had always found a brain in everyone they examined meant that he too probably had a brain. But he admitted that on this line of reasoning it was possible he may or may not have a brain, just as there may or may not be a God. AMAZING PROGRESS His opponent pointed out that there had been some progress, because now that the atheist had admitted there could be a God he was no longer an atheist, but an agnostic (someone who doesnt know whether God exists or not). And this really is the best that scoffers can come up with. To know that God doesnt exist means you would have to know everything, because if there is any information you dont know, God could be among that. You would also have to be everywhere at the same time, because if you were not, God might be somewhere you were not. Why will some atheists never find God, even though God has promised to reward them if they diligently seek Him in faith? Because they never honestly look. Christians need to help them to see the wonderful truth of Hebrews 11:6, not look down on them.

Look at the world around you. LOOK AT IT. Look at your dog and your neighbors cat. Not too different, eh? Look at the man on the horse and the cows on the pasture beside it. Not too different, right? Look at that funny looking fat orangutan, and the funny looking fat guy beside you. NOT DIFFERENT. In fact, in case you haven't noticed, whales have back legs. Yes, they're very tiny, but they're there. And there's no denying that we have 98% of our dna shared with chimpanzees. People who think that "the world was made in seven days" and that "god made things evolve" is STUPID. Because even if god made things evolve, then why are there so many fossils of things that died? Aren't they supposed to be PERFECT? OF COURSE NOT! And if you think about it, we're the only things on earth that think there's a god. Animals have to killl to eat and live. They do not repent their sins. And we aren't as clever as them, because MOST OF US THINK THERE IS A GOD. THEY DON'T CARE. Religion is not even a way of being peaceful, because it causes wars. If there is a god, i hate him.

i am christian...the thing people realize about the bible is some of it is historical accounts of things that happened and some of it is just a story meant to teach us something. that could just be a story. you can't take everything in the bible to be fact. you have to read it all the way through and personally make a decision about what parts you believe to be true and what parts you don't. for example i believe the revalations is a simply metaphorical part of the bible. I AM CHRISTIAN. but i will not ignore science. there is no proof god doesn't exist and theres no proof he does. i choose to believe what i choose to believe. my beliefs dictate my life not one book written by a group of friends. i believe in jesus christ and i believe in evolution.

I am NOT chritian and dont believe that the "one god" created everything i am pagan and believe that thing evolved. i dont think that people just randomly popped up one day out of no where. and quetions to you who do believe this, do you believe the whole adam and eve were the first people? if they were wouldnt we all be VERY much insest?

God did not activate evolution as a way of creation. All you have to read to know the truth is the Bible. In 7 days God created the heavens and the Earth and everything in it. He spoke and it was done. Evolution has no evidence whatsoever about what they say to be the origin of life. It is not true and has no base to support it.

I also believe that God is real and I stand up for that. I don't believe in evolution, but that God created the world and that Jesus died for you and everyone else.

I, too, am a Christian and I believe wholeheartedly that God created everything.

I also believe that God is real but possibly God activated evolution as a way of creation...maybe the days were actually symbolistic ways of representing melleniums. All in all it doesn't matter, all that matters is that you believe that Jesus died for you, for everyone.

Why this cause matters...

I am a Christian and I stand up for what is real and God is real!
